Activities supporting objectives
Key to the success of this project is a research coordinator in each First Nation who takes the lead on communicating out on the Project activities to Chief and Council, Fisheries and Health depts and community members and is the primary link to research partners. The research coordinator also chairs a Nation advisory committee who provide advice on project approaches and activities. The Research Coordinator supervises a local research team to carry out dietary surveys and co-facilitates expert interviews.
The diagram below is intended to illustrate some the processes underway to support decision-making for adaptation planning and the development of a regional framework. While the backbone of the project relies on modelling projections in order to predict what might be changing in the ocean and in each community to inform fisheries adaptation planning, we also acknowledge that there are many other multiple drivers that influence nutrition and food security.
